FruitCREWS Final Workshop at the European Parliament

FruitCREWS Final Workshop at the European Parliament

On 24 June 2026, the FruitCREWS Final Workshop will bring together researchers, policymakers, growers, irrigation stakeholders and technology providers at the INFO-HUB of the European Parliament in Brussels to discuss practical solutions and policy actions for more resilient agricultural systems.

The workshop, entitled “Sustainable Water Management for EU Agriculture: From Water Scarcity and Heat Waves to the Adoption of Technologies to Improve Irrigation Efficiency”, will take place as part of the FruitCREWS Final Event, held from 23–25 June 2026 in Brussels. While the three-day event is dedicated to reflecting on the achievements and future perspectives of the COST Action, the workshop itself is open to external participants and can also be followed online.

The workshop programme will feature:

  • Perspectives from researchers and stakeholders representing major fruit-producing regions across Europe and beyond;
  • Presentation of the main achievements and recommendations of the FruitCREWS network;
  • Insights from representatives of the European Commission and Members of the European Parliament on current and future policy frameworks for water resilience;
  • A high-level roundtable discussion with leading European stakeholder organisations, including AREFHL, Copa-Cogeca, Irrigants d’Europe and the European Irrigation Association.

By bringing together science, policy and practice, the workshop aims to contribute to coordinated European strategies that support sustainable water use, resilient fruit production systems and the wider adoption of efficient irrigation practices.

Interested in the future of sustainable water management and climate-resilient fruit production?

We warmly invite researchers, policymakers, growers, advisors, industry representatives and all stakeholders working towards sustainable agriculture to join us in Brussels or online.
