Professor Cenk Küçükyumuk embarked on a knowledge-rich journey during a Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) at Aldo Moro University in Bari, Italy. This scientific mission was sponsored by COST Action FruitCREWS. From July 31st to August 10th, 2023, the STSM immersed Prof. Küçükyumuk in grape and almond tree studies, fostering profound insights into regulated deficit irrigation strategies.
Under Prof. Pasquale Losciale‘s guidance, the STSM encompassed data collection, parameter measurements, and collaborative analysis of past projects. Prof. Küçükyumuk honed his skills using advanced instruments to measure parameters like stomatal conductance and net photosynthesis.
The STSM bore fruits beyond expectations. Prof. Küçükyumuk‘s meticulous data preparation (3350 lines for one article) showcased his dedication. Collaborative discussions paved the way for upcoming water deficit projects, fueling their shared passion for innovative research.
