On May 21, 2023, Melissa Venturi from the University of Bologna represented the FruitCREWS COST Action at the 9th International Cherry Symposium in Beijing, China.

Melissa, a member of Working Group 1 (WG1) of the Action, presented her research on “Can pre-harvest drought stress influence plant physiology and fruit metabolome in sour cherry?” She explored how drought stress affects sour cherry plants and their fruit. This important work can help improve cherry cultivation under climate stress.

Her poster presentation attracted around 80 scientists, generating interest and discussions. Melissa’s participation showcased the innovative work of the FruitCREWS network and promoted international collaboration.

Congratulations to Melissa Venturi for her excellent presentation and contribution to plant physiology research!
