Nikola Saraginovski, a researcher from Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food, Skopje, completed a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) at the Cyprus University of Technology, hosted by Prof. George Manganaris, from February 15th to March 14th, 2024. This STSM, funded by the FruitCREWS COST Action, focused on analyzing the effects of deficient irrigation on strawberry plants, particularly on key compounds in fruit and leaf tissues.
During his stay, Nikola conducted field measurements and laboratory analyses, gaining valuable experience in assessing the physiological responses of strawberry plants to water stress. His work directly contributed to the objectives of the FruitCREWS Action, particularly in understanding drought impacts.
This STSM paved the way for future collaborations, including studies on sweet cherries under similar stress conditions. Nikola’s research highlights the ongoing efforts to advance sustainable fruit crop production.
