The FruitCREWS COST Action is pleased to announce its upcoming Training School titled “Introduction to Remote Sensing for Irrigation Management”, which will take place from 29 September to 1 October 2025 in Skopje, North Macedonia. Hosted by the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food, this three-day event is designed to introduce students and researchers to the tools and techniques of remote sensing in the context of sustainable irrigation.
The training school will offer a combination of lectures and practical sessions, covering topics such as the physical principles of remote sensing, satellite and drone imagery acquisition, and geospatial analysis for irrigation decision-making. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with real-world case studies, including field trips and hands-on analysis of thermal and multispectral imagery.
The event is organized by professors Ordan Cukaliev, Nikola Saraginovski, Vjekoslav Tanaskovic, and Ivana Janeska Stamenkovska, with support from FruitCREWS Chair Prof. Brunella Morandi and Vice-Chair Dr. Virginia Hernandez Santana. Up to 25 participants will be selected for reimbursement, and all applicants are expected to bring their own laptops.
This training school is funded by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology), which supports collaborative scientific and technological research across Europe.
